The Problem: This Snack Cake Pan Cleaner is so effective at cleaning that often the pans are ready for reuse without going through a pan washer. Keeping this material out of you wastewater may reduce your overall plant BOD levels below regulatory limits, at minimum it will permit improved production productivity. Finally, moisture and humidity are known to decrease a pan’s glaze life, by reducing the washing and drying you extend your glaze life and provide a more uniform baking condition.
The Solution: The Snack Cake Pan Cleaner removes 90+ percent of the residual crumbs through our patented dry brushing process. The breakthrough in the Bake Star dry cleaning process is in the cleaning of the sticky crumbs from the brushing bristles, which normally quickly clog the brushes. Because the Snack Cake Pan Cleaner is a dry process, the crumbs remain dry and can be disposed of as animal feed. Allowing this resource to generate cash instead of costing you for waste disposal, penalties and surcharges. Currently the snack cake pan water washing process causes the residual crumbs to load the system, requiring expensive filtering, high consumption of makeup water and a problem with disposing of the high BOD (biological oxygen demand) waste water. Disposal of this high BOD waste water by the local sewage treatment utility is surcharged at a much higher rate, if they are willing to handle it at all. In some cases bakeries have had to build settling ponds and treatment facilities, which in turn can produce odor problems in the community. The daily amount of waste water these treatment facilities handle is often limited by permit, while the sludge produced is classified as hazardous waste.
